Dr Louise McKenzie

Louise brings 20 years of experience working as an Environmental Scientist, initially in research, then the water sector for 10 years, and New South Wales Government. With a PhD in ecology, quantitative genetics, and ecotoxicology, Louise has a technical background and has led rigorous applied science programs across a range of environments, from drinking water catchments through to open oceans. Louise has managed projects in strategic, planning, and operational roles, to support decision making, manage the impacts of water and wastewater operations, and meet legislative requirements within the water sector. While at NSW Government, Louise led teams investigating the impacts of natural hazards on waterways across the east coast of NSW. Louise is passionate about implementing science-based decision making and stakeholder engagement to improve the environment and ensure a sustainable future for our communities.
